KWON Taekwondo Face Shield for PRO Head Guard — Clear Face Protection
Size & Fit Guide
If your child is nervous about getting tapped in the face, this is the piece that usually fixes it.
The KWON Face Shield is a clear guard that straps onto the front of a KWON PRO Head Guard and covers the face. Nothing about their gear changes — same head guard, same fit — they just have a clear window in front of them. For a lot of kids, that's the difference between hanging back and actually stepping in.
What is a Taekwondo face shield?
A Taekwondo face shield is a clear guard that attaches to the front of a padded head guard to shield the nose, mouth and cheeks during training. It is worn in practice and drills rather than in official competition. This one is made by KWON and is designed to fit the KWON PRO Head Guard.
Who usually buys this
- Kids who are shy about contact. A lot of beginners are fine with everything until someone reaches for their head. The shield takes that worry off the table so they can learn to move.
- Kids in braces or with recent dental work. Parents often add a shield for the year or two the orthodontist is involved.
- Coming back after a knock. After a bumped nose or a bad day on the mat, a few weeks behind a shield can be what gets a child back to class without a fight about it.
- Anyone who just wants more coverage in practice. Adults buy these too.
How it goes on
The shield fastens to the head guard at five points with adjustable elastic straps. No tools, no permanent changes to the head guard — it goes on before class and comes off after, in about the time it takes to tie a belt. Your child can wear the same head guard with or without it.
The head guard is not included. This listing is the shield on its own, for families who already have a KWON PRO Head Guard.
Which size do I order?
Order the shield to match the head guard your child already wears — not their head measurement.
- X-Small / Small — fits XS and S PRO Head Guards (most younger children)
- Medium / Large — fits M and L PRO Head Guards (older kids and most adults)
- X-Large — fits XL PRO Head Guards

Common questions
Can my child wear this in a tournament?
No. The face shield is a training accessory and is not WT approved, so it can't be worn in WT sanctioned competition. The PRO Head Guard it attaches to is WT recognized on its own — the shield is the part that isn't. Plenty of families use the shield all week in class and simply take it off for tournament day.
Will it fit any head guard?
It's built for the KWON PRO Head Guard specifically. The attachment points line up with that model, so it won't fasten correctly to head guards from other brands or other KWON lines.
Can they still see and breathe normally?
Yes. The shield is clear and open at the sides and bottom, so it doesn't seal against the face.
Is my child too young for this?
The X-Small / Small shield pairs with the smallest PRO Head Guards, which fit children with a head measurement from about 18½ inches — so it covers most little ones who are old enough to spar.
One honest note. KWON mentions that on some head guards there's an extra velcro strip at the lower left with no matching point on the shield. The shield still holds at its five attachment points and KWON advises it doesn't affect how it works — we'd rather you hear it from us than find it in the box.
