The biggest taekwondo event on the U.S. calendar is happening this summer. The 2026 U.S. National Taekwondo Championships, sanctioned by USA Taekwondo (USATKD), runs July 1–5, 2026 in Charlotte, North Carolina. This is the national championship — the pinnacle of competitive TKD in the United States.
Why This Event Matters
The U.S. National Taekwondo Championships is where America's best athletes compete for national titles and ranking points that feed into international team selection. For young competitors, placing at Nationals is one of the highest achievements in the sport. It's also an incredible experience for any athlete to witness — even those who aren't yet competing at that level.
Who Can Compete
USATKD Nationals is open to current USATKD members across all skill and age divisions. Junior divisions begin at young ages and go through 15–17 Cadet. Athletes must hold a valid USATKD membership to enter. Visit usatkd.org for the full event page, registration details, and division breakdowns.
