Flexibility isn't something kids either have or don't have — it's a habit that grows slowly with a little regular attention.
Five to ten minutes a few times a week does far more for a young martial artist than one long, uncomfortable session. Warm up first with a couple of minutes of light movement, keep every stretch at a mild pull (never sharp), and pair it with something they already do — right after class, or just before bed. Higher kicks in Taekwondo and easier positions on the BJJ mat both come from the same steady, low-pressure habit.
